College Admissions Essay: My Goals In College

I have quite a few goals but some of my biggest goal are just right ahead of me and I hope to achieve and surpass them when the time comes. One of my biggest goals is to finish my first semester in college with a grade point average at or above a 3.5. Another one of my goals is to get back on track with me giving back to my local community. Lastly, I want to reach my goal of getting a tutor and understanding biology better than I do, because that is not a strong point for me. I believe my goals will tie in with the core values service, excellence, and empowerment. Service ties into my goal of giving back to my local community, which would be northeastern Pennsylvania but more specifically, Scranton. I live on the southern side of town and I went to Scranton High School. SHS was a very diverse school and community considering we had almost 2,000 students alone coming from 26 different countries. With that being said, we had people who needed things more than other. We have had people that have just came from their country with nothing but the clothes on their back but on the other side, I graduated with one of the Pennsylvania’s House of Representatives daughter, so just from saying that you can …show more content…
I do value the access of high education, due to the fact no one else in my family has anything higher than a high school diploma. I strive to reach goals to overcome our family issues and think about my future to get a better life for myself. I want to fulfill my full potential and work as hard as I can to make my life and society better. With my goals, I plan on using school to be a gateway to a better life and make the world around me a better place. This is one of the biggest reasons I strive every day. Also, being the oldest of three, I am a role model to my younger siblings and they watch me very closely, so it is important for me to do
