Dream is not that which you see while sleeping it is something that does not let you sleep. My father is the one who instilled this thought into me. His passion to medical school got turned down abruptly due to unprivileged financial circumstances. His thirst never quenched. Hence then he devoted his lifetime, persuading positively and raised me with a quest for medical school.My quest turned into my desire when my father was diagnosed with heart attack and treated with CABG at the age of ten.I was greatly inspired by the doctors who treated my father and that moment made me to chose this field.My desire to help human beings began with my father and now I could expand it to all persons in this world.

I can still remember a patient whom I used to call Mr.Sam ,was suffering from reentrant tachyarrythmia.One fine morning, the cardiologist came to inform Mr.Sam of his findings. In addition, the doctor advised him about the option of catheter ablation. I sensed fear in Mr.Sam’s eyes immediately. After the doctor left the room, I politely asked him if he has any concerns. He was silent for a while and then asked, “So whats happening ?”. I explained clearly about the problem, necessary treatments,cleared all his doubts and also went back to see him on the day he was to be discharged and stressed the importance of following up with the cardiologist. Prior to leaving, Mr. Sam looked at me with a smile on his face and said “Thank you so much” holding my hand.His action left me speechless and humbled. The sense of trust and belief that is established in the physician-patient relationship through comforting conversations with patients has made me realize that a physician’s responsibility goes beyond prescribing
