Never stop pursuing knowledge and education. These are things that no one can take from you regardless of what life throws at you.” My life has been a struggle at times, but my hard work and determination is the key to my success. The choices that I have made in my life have had an enormous impact on my future. I want to motivate people and let them know that you can achieve your goals through hard work and persistence. My personal experiences have had a large impact on my motivation to accomplish my dreams. High school was very difficult for me, and I was completely overwhelmed with the daily challenges and the fear of failure, which led me to drop out of school. I was working jobs that were low paying, stressful, and physically demanding to support my wife and three kids. Life was taking a toll on me and did not have the time to spend with my family. At this point in my life I needed a change so I decided to enroll in Everest College in the Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning (HVAC) program. Going back to school and supporting a family was tougher than I imagined, but with prayer and dedication I completed the program at the top of my class with a 4.0 GPA. Upon completion of the program I received my universal HVAC license which allowed me to be more marketable to the companies that I was applying for. Not long after I interviewed with National Oilwell Varco and was hired on the spot. This job had a dramatic impact on my life and was everything that I hoped for. My salary increased more than two times the amount from my previous jobs, and I was able to spend more time with my family and give them the life that they deserved. After five years of service I was laid off due to the fall of oil prices, A couple of years back I was at a company picnic and ruptured my achelies tendon while playing basketball. I had to received surgery and aggressive phyiscal therapy for the treament of my injury.
