As I grew older I realized that in order to create these types of experience I would need a degree in computer science, and from there I realized that I could do a lot more with this knowledge. “I could make more than games”, I said to myself. I realized that I could create programs that could help save patients’ lives. I could make the car they’re driving even safer. I could make all these things and still provide people with the smile I had on my face when I was …show more content…

In high school I really didn’t have a goal I wanted to attain because I really didn’t know what I wanted to be. So without a goal, I really didn’t have a drive to do well in school. Fast forward to the middle of junior year and my group of friends would be discussing what we wanted to after high school. I would be left out from these discussions because my lack of knowing what I wanted to do. So at that point I decided that I would take a look into what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. Then after a couple of nights, thinking about the future, I would always come back to my childhood of playing my Gameboy. That was the moment I knew that wanted to become a programmer and make video games that made me smile. However, after even more research I found out that there are a lot more opportunities in that field which essentially gave me a safety net if making video games didn’t work

The year was 2014. I was a senior in high school, already I had committed to go to Colorado Mesa University, I had a track scholarship and I was going to major in Geology, ultimately wanting to go into petroleum engineering. As cliché as it may have been, I dropped out, I worked for a period of time and sent myself on a trip to Europe to “find myself”.…

If someone has not already thought of this, they most likely will because the majority of people have to have serious questions based upon what they want to make a career out of. However, some people have always known what they feel passionate about and can make a career out of. Ever since I was young, I have always loved houses from interior to exterior and even structurally with floor plans. Free from all the extra attention and scrutiny from teachers, who did all they could to mold the freshman class into proper "Vincentians", I felt as though I could finally relax and have a regular high school career. It was a slow paced year where pressures such as ACT and SAT preparation, applying for colleges, and deciding your career path seemed so far away. As long as I remember, I have been on a never ending journey of discovering my talents and finding a career that would be most suitable for me to contribute to society. I was convinced that If just lived life the way I was supposed to and fulfilled my responsibilities, that it all would just come to me one day. Because of my assumption of how much time I had to figure out what I wanted to do with my life, I found myself putting these important thoughts on a hiatus.…

Over the years this has happened through many long and crazy fun summers full of terrible sleep schedules and way too much caffeine. My freshman year of high school I wanted to be an engineer because it seemed like a good fit for me at the time. My class spent the majority of the time modeling three dimensional objects on computers, and I found that part to be more interesting than anything related to engineering. This class sparked not only my interest in computers, but it also sparked my interest in creating things. I began to look for ways to express my newfound desires, and I settled on the thing that came most naturally to me; I wanted to create a video game. Although I could not make games on the scale of the ones that I enjoyed playing with my brother growing up, I did commit to learn and do the best that I could.…
