I come from a family who wants nothing from me but success, everyday they challenge me to become the best person I can be. My family is from both Guatemala and Mexico, life over there isn’t like here in the United States, I consider myself lucky for having the opportunities they couldn’t get. My family is very hard working, they push my brothers and I to the best of our abilities and we take the challenge and do not give up. We were raised here in City Heights, I enjoy living in the community I live in, pretty small but you get to meet almost everyone who lives here. So far I have had great school experiences, in my old high school and in middle school, I have met different types of people with different backgrounds. Looking at my parents do nothing but work each day to have food on the table for us and a roof over our heads is truly an inspiration and I look up to them. I have always had trouble in school and the way I learn, I have dyslexia which can sometimes get in the way of my education but it never stops me it just makes me work harder. Giving up is never an option for me, no matter how hard the situation might get I always find a reason to keep going, have faith and believe in myself. I have learned many important things throughout life, and this year as well, I have learned to fail and be okay with it because everyone makes mistakes and that is okay because nobody is perfect and how will we learn if we don’t fail. I have made many mistakes in the past, I wouldn’t say I am the best student in school but I don’t and won’t give up on myself. Everyday is a new day and a new opportunity to keep going and strive for my dreams, coming to Health Sciences High and Middle College made me realize and think about my future and what I want to do and who I want to become and I will work hard to get where I want to get and make my family
