College Admissions Essay: Growing Up

Decent Essays
The environment I was brought up in wasn't the greatest, moreover, it was actually pretty cruel. I grew up on the west side of San Antonio for most of my life. Being raised on the west side left a enormous impact on me physically and mentally, Growing up there and everything that i've been through has helped mold me into the amazing person that I am today. Growing up with a struggling single mother wasn't easy, we lived below poverty. We were forced to turn a spacious room in my grandma's dwelling into a house, We called it the cuartito. Ironic, huh?

Growing up the way I did showed me multiple things, It educated me in the sense of money not being everything, nor should it be everything. Living below poverty honestly made me see the world
