Going to college has been a life long dream of mine. As an adult it is sometimes hard to justify the cost when you are not one hundred percent sure of what degree you want to pursue. I have waited many years, praying for God’s direction and wisdom that I would know what I have been created to do. I know that as I am about to embark on this journey, God is with me. He has provided me with the clarity and a vision in which I attend to follow. Leading up to this decision has been it’s own journey. The past four years have been such a great ministry opportunity for me. I have owned and operated a local coffee shop, Morning Mission Coffee. I love hearing their story and trying to figure out why they make the decisions they do. People feel drawn to tell me their story and to seek my help. I believe people feel connected to me due to that fact that I genuinely care for them. Last year my husband and I had the chance to teach a couple of pre-marital classes through a local church. My heart has always yearned to help couples overcome the hurdles in their marriage. Marriage is not easy, but it is worth the fight, and that is what I try to convey to these couples. The pre-marital classes were the first time I had a chance to teach in a classroom setting. I feel in love with the teaching and helping aspect of the classes. My passion for helping others has continued to grow since. Being a mom for the past fifteen years has also allowed me to learn a lot about how different people handle different situations. A few years ago my daughter became extremely depressed due to a situation at school. It took a while for us to figure out what exactly was going on with her, but finally we were able to get her to open up and talk about what was going on.
