Decent Essays
A perfect day is any day when I spend it with my older brother and older sister one of those days would be like this. I’m awoken at four AM to see their faces to be told we’re going to San Diego. On hearing this and seeing them I got out of bed ecstatically to get dressed quickly and jump into my sister’s car. After what felt like an eternity we finally arrived in San Diego as hungry as a bear. The three of us decide to eat breakfast and plan out the rest of the day while we eat.
We all eat pancakes with bacon and eggs, my siblings giving me their delicious juicy bacon for certain circumstances. First off bacon makes my brother want to vomit for some peculiar reason and my sister is pescetarian meaning she doesn’t eat meat, but she does eat

It was 1981. I had just graduated from high school, and another four-year commitment to “education” was the last thing I wanted to do. The problem was that all those other things required money, and thus a job. Unfortunately, at that time the country was in a severe recession, and the only state that seemed immunized to it was Texas. I had to make the decision whether to leave my birthplace, my family, and my friends or to pursue a new life and adventure over a thousand miles away.…

One year ago, I moved to a tiny community in northeastern Montana. It’s not what most people picture when they picture Montana. I am not surrounded by mountains and pine trees, but rather high rolling plains, oil rigs, and cattle ranches. It is a far cry from the Midwest where I grew up. It is even a farther cry from the South American jungle where I lived and taught for the six years prior to living here.…
