College Admissions Essay: A Passion Of Dance

Dancing has always been a passion of mine ever since I was little. Whether I was waking up early in the morning to catch a Backstreet Boys’ music video and copy their choreography to showing my family the moves I had learned from those music videos, dancing had always been something that I loved. I watched Korean Pop music videos and saw the different dances, only now I wasn’t just copying them but I also began to really absorb and memorize the body movements and the different vibes that were being sent out from these artists. Throughout high school, I always wanted to take up a dance class, preferably a Hip Hop class but I never had the opportunity

As stated before in our first lecture, dance is a living and fleeting art form. I believe that dance is a living art form because it is a three-dimensional picture to art. What I mean by this is that, art is normally seen on walls or as sculptures, but dance is an amazing opportunity to view art while in movement. If you are anything like me, when I look at a painting of two people or many, I always wonder what it would be like to see them actually dancing, singing, or even laughing. By watching dance, it is my living art form.…
