You see, growing up, I would go over to my grandfather's house, on my mother’s side, and he would have paintings he made, everywhere. He use to paint for a living and has an immense passion for it also. So, you could say it was passed down to me. My father, also, passed down his creativity to me. My father loves to make model planes and military ships. So, when I was younger, I would see him in the basement putting all these intricate and bizarre pieces together to make something extraordinary. That being said, they both gave me my talents and have encouraged my desire to make something exquisite. As it is not obvious, I am not rich. I can’t afford going to college all my own. With the money form the Bulk Scholarship, I can focus more on my art and studies, than focusing on how to pay these large amounts of money, that college costs. if given the scholarship, I would put it toward my tuition and work harder than ever in school, knowing that I was given a chance to further my education and success, while working hard toward my career goal. As I move forward on my journey to become a concept artist and attain my dreams, I hope you will do me the pleasure of joining the adventure. By giving the scholarship to me, you will be helping me make a fantasy become

I feel like I am a good candidate for this scholarship because, as a senior, any and all money earned and received will help me ease the burden of attending college. My goal throughout my whole childhood was to receive a full ride scholarship to the college of my dreams; however, as time has gone on and I have matured I have come to the realization that, that dream is not as achievable as I once believed it to be. I have worked hard, inside and outside of the classroom, making the grades and creating the resume that colleges are looking for, and in response I have been offered tuition waivers. Which ultimately means I am still responsible for paying for my books, room and board, part of the tuition cost, and mandatory fees.…

The values and standards of National Honor Society are the four important pillars of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. A person needs to represent all four pillars to uphold the honor of National Honor Society, just like a table with four legs must balance a table. I have developed through the years to be a strong leader, holding the table of scholarship, leadership, service, and character and I would be so very honored to hold this leadership with National Honor Society. Scholarship is holding myself to a high standard, academically and socially. I display a strong sense of scholarship as I have maintained the Highest Honor Roll each grade of my High School career, Middle School and even Elementary School, I love to learn!…

Lemonade inspires me to create music that makes people think critically. Not only is it my career goal, it's my life's passion: making music that can change the world through the spirit of the sound. I feel that Lemonade’s purpose is to empower, to demonstrate the resilience of women of color, and to wage a war against inequality. That message is what inspires me to learn how to raise a sword against injustice, fighting against the adversity that I have faced as a Mexican-American woman, through music and composition. The most inspiring message, for me, that came from her Lemonade album was from “Formation.”…

In my junior year, I switched my art course from modern dance to visual arts, and I have truly benefited from this change. While I do still participate in dance, visual art has always been a passion of mine, and since receiving professional instruction, I have learned the true potential of my work. When I began studying art, I was fascinated by digital and traditional illustration; comic books, animated movies, and children’s books have always interested me, and I wanted to try my hand at this work. However, I was the only student pursuing this type of art, and was subsequently required to do a lot of research on my own. Unfortunately, as I did my individual search to find inspiration, I noticed a distinct lack of popular art that portrayed people of color at all, especially in a classical, beautiful way.…

The heat from the stage lights, the watchful gazes of the audience, and the sweat dripping off of our faces as we struggle to remember our lines, these sensations of being on stage are what caused the performing arts to become not only an activity, but also a passion and an unexpected source of personal growth. Through my experiences in drama and music I have been able to discover my own meaning of fulfillment and define who the person behind my appearance truly is. My passion in the performing arts started when I was a young child first learning to play the violin. Picking up the violin at the age of 6, I became stuck on one of the most basic songs for almost a whole year. At that time no one believed that I could play the violin, my teacher thought that I was too hyperactive and even my mom attempted to convince me to quit.…

There are many different items that go into making any decision in life, and it can make or break you. While making decisions it can become so overwhelming at times, but the most important thing to remember is to believe in yourself and put yourself first. I have explored each of these colleges in depth over the past couple of months, and now the time has come to figure out which college I want to continue my education and my basketball career at.…

My passion is creating a picture of what I see in my mind on a piece of paper with a pencil, pen or crayon, also known as drawing.
