Microbiology piqued my interest when I gazed into a microscope for the first time. Previously, I never considered the existence of a world unseen by the naked eye. Then, I found myself gawking at an organism with a body as remarkably complex as my own. How could this be? How could an organism only visible through lenses have a body as intricate as an organism hundreds of times larger than itself? With these questions swimming in my head, I decided to study this world unseen. During my research, I discovered that there were a variety of cells and bacteria. I also discovered that I was made of cells. This astonished me. My body is an amalgamation of countless cells; all of which move at my brain’s command. It soon occurred to me that every time
