With that in mind, I chose a small school of about 2,000 Undergrads. Everyone knows each other and is friendly, professors know your name, and it only takes five minutes to walk across campus. At the time this sounded like a good …show more content…
Anythting I need from home I can’t get with a phone call. School pride and networking is another reason I aspire to attend the University of Connecticut next fall. Growing up in UConn country, I always had that sense of pride and excitement going to sporting events or being a part of the UConn community. At my current school no one seems interested in supporting the athletic teams or large community outreach programs. There is no strong sense of school pride. I want to go to a school where I can proudly say I attended for my undergraduate degree. In addition to being proud of my school, I want a school that can help me reach out into the professional world. Attending a small school is great if you want to live within a one-hour radius, where the school is known. With a degree from UConn I could cross the country and even the globe and be recognized as a stand out candidate for a job because the school has such a well known academic programs and extensive alumni network. Finally, UConn has much more to offer to it’s students in the forms of clubs, activities, and funding for all the above. It would give me the opportunity to explore and peruse my

There are a few reasons why I decided to attend a community college. First, I knew that if went to a community college, my financial aid will cover my tuition and fees. The second reason is that this community college is 15 minutes far away from my home and that really worked for me because I wasn't prepared at that time to leave my family behind. I know that I made the right decision because I'm getting the same education that other colleges and universities offer, but less expensive. The third reason is that I love small classes because I get to have a really good connection with my professors and my classmates and for me that is really important.…

Through my experience, my freshman and sophomore years as a musician were terrifying. On top of the shock of the new atmosphere at school, I had to play my instrument with and in front of others, which was quite a stretch for me at the time. I would always beat myself up about minute mistakes I had glorified during rehearsals, playing tests, and especially auditions. However, after I did not make an Illinois Allstate ensemble my junior year, my approach to these nerve-wracking situations completely changed. Instead of thinking failing negatively, those uncomfortable experiences actually made me improve as I had taken more auditions.…
