As an adolescent, I found myself to be the type of child that loved exploring and trying new things. New experiences thrilled me and I learned a great deal from them. The drive to learn, explore, and conquer has made me the person I am today. My family descendants are from Cuba and Spain, although I was born and raised in Miami. I can speak, write and read Spanish. Currently, I have a part time job as a temporary teacher and I am a full time student. I carry a novel with me wherever I go and on my personal time I enjoy reading them. I consistently try to encourage others to read, especially children, as well because I am an avid believer that reading not only fuels your vocabulary, but it unleashes your imagination. One of my main goals are to earn the Presidential Award for service learning. Helping others is something I acquired from my college professor; Dr. Massi. My first charity event was an Autism Walk called "A Walk for Autism" and witnessing all those people unite for a good cause was astonishing. Besides reading, one of my favorite hobbies is to travel. I find it very exciting to see new places, meet new people, and learn about different cultures. Most of my travels have been in the United States. I have journeyed all over Florida and up the Atlantic seacoast ending in New York. In the future I would like to visit Italy, France, England, Ireland, Spain and Japan. However, I believe in order to travel to some these magnificent places, I first must learn their native languages. The languages I master now are English, and Spanish, and I am currently learning Italian. In the future I am planning to learn Japanese and French. Exploring and learning new things has been and always will be something that is gratifying for …show more content…
This career I have chosen derives from my passion to help others. This E-portfolio will illustrate my accomplishments in meeting the Florida Educator Accomplished Practices (FEAPs). It will demonstrate how I have grown as an educator throughout the Early Childhood B.S. program. One of the most important FEAPS guidelines that I will adhere to is always accommodation to a child's learning style. I will also provide a safe learning environment. My students will always have interesting and challenging exercises. If I possess any knowledge that can guide the children of tomorrow, I would like to have the opportunity to be a part of a great process. The process of education. Furthermore, in the event that I decide to attend graduate school, my E-Portfolio will be a great tool to seek admission. This portfolio is a diary of my time spent at the Miami Dade College School of Education and reflects my best works. My artifacts were chosen to demonstrate my knowledge of researched based practices and my dedication to the education

There are two very contrasting languages that I associate myself with. My native language is Haitian Creole, a language that arose among a nation of people that had a large impact on history. When I spoke my native language, I thought nothing of it, it held very little to no significance to me, until I lost it. My second language, English, is detrimental to my success in this world. I had to work hard to learn it, understand it and an even greater deal of difficulty having to speak it.…

Unlike most people, who change their mind on the career they want, I knew from the start that I wanted to be a teacher. I have many goals I hope to achieve when I am a teacher for example, making class a fun and exciting environment for the students and have them look forward to coming to class. I knew I wanted to be a teacher since I was young because I had a teacher that I had a close relationship with and made me love school. Ever since I had her as a teacher I knew that I wanted to be like her and teach like she did.…
