Unfortunately, Christian women are not warmly welcomed into the scientific community, but I want to make a difference in the world and I believe that God made me passionate about conservation for a reason. Being an ecologist means being prepared to pull the graveyard shift to protect hatching sea turtles, being brave (or foolish) enough to be eaten alive by mosquitoes, and being willing to challenge the assumptions that people have held about the environment for generations.
