For just a moment, close your eyes and imagine that you see a small research boat bobbing gently in the rolling waves of a boundless aquamarine sea. From the surface, the seafloor appears to be a tangled swirl of blue rocks and white patches of sand; however, if you leave the world of air-breathing creatures and dive into the warm water, you will find quite a different scene. Mounds of colorful coral wind in intersecting avenues far out of sight, and countless schools of fish circle in rocky canyons and hide beneath the corals. Look to your left and you will see me and my teammates: we are over by a clump of white, unhealthy coral, examining it to discover the source of its distress. In a few hours my team and I will be back in the lab reviewing data, but right now I am enjoying the sunshine. My journey will not be easy, but I am prepared to work diligently to attain my goal, and I have seen God’s sovereign hand work in my own life often enough to know that if this is His plan for me, He will see it to

If you asked my mom what my free time consisted of as a tiny tot, she would probably talk about my affinity for documentaries, specifically nature and space. While other kids would run home to catch the latest episode of Spongebob, I was rushing home to catch the latest episode of the nature documentary that was being showcased. My love of nature and animals led me to aspiring to be a marine biologist. My area of interest has shifted a bit, but is still in the realm of biology. I now dream of majoring in zoology, and becoming a zoologist.…

The career I have chosen for this project is a biologist. The role of a biologist can consist of multiple different studies, but primarily focuses on living things. Some biologists study things as small as the molecules that form organisms, how they work, and how they combine to create a working living thing. Others take a look at the ecosystems that contain living things. Biology can include experiments in a lab, or hands-on field studies.…
