Ever since i was little i had dreams, and aspirations. First I wanted to be a racecar driver, then a professional gamer, and eventually even a doctor. As I grew up those thoughts faded away, replaced by one ultimate goal. I needed to be an actor. It is more than a want though. My first director I had said something that resonated well with me. “If you want to do it, walk away. If you need to do it, give it your all.” Acting is a highly sought after profession. The ones who are at the top seem to have it all, the glamour, the fame, multiple sports cars, the most world renowned actors at their arm. The hard truth is that roughly ninety eight percent of actors don’t make a living off of acting alone. That thought has never troubled me although, …show more content…
When I start something I need to finish it, and this is nothing different. I have heard time and time again, “Do not go through with this, it will not work, you will not make it.” Although being told this, I only feel more determination. However that is not the only reason I want to do it. It goes beyond my passion for acting and being on stage. I want to leave this world knowing I made a difference. I want to use my fame for good, whether it be through donation, or promoting some sort of charity. I think that many famous actors or just people in general have the power to make quite a significant impact on certain matters, except some just choose to not do it. Being a famous actor is nothing that will be easy. I personally do not expect a walk in the park kind of life. Although I am okay with that, I want challenge, I think it promotes character and will only better me. I know it will be hard, and chances are I will be working some close to minimum wage job while I juggle possible auditions and jump from talent scouter to the next until I find one that sees something. It is an experience i welcome and can not wait to embark on. Like I said, someone has to be the two percent, and I refuse to stop until I make

In acting one I feel like I learned why more than what I intended. I think what most people and I would have thought is that acting is learning about how to play other people. But what we all can learn is that acting is way more then that. Acting is knowing that you can be anything in this whole entire universe even if this universe sees you as a nobody. I feel like everyday in this class I have a little bit more about myself.…

There was a time, before sound was introduced to film and culture was hand picked for society, when stars were born and bred on the stage. Actors who grew an understanding of their craft by clocking in rehearsal hours, feeding off an audience during live performances, and praying to the right gods, were signed on for a starring role in a film: an advancement in their career. Today, the craft of acting and the medium in which an actor is showcased have changed landscapes and the up-and-coming “starving actor” is struggling for work. Casting for film has long been equated to having the right “look” and there seems to only be two ways to get your feet on a Broadway stage: insane talent and luck or celebrity status. Broadway’s marquees have historically been crowded by celebrity names that draw audiences and drive ticket prices up, and with recent seasons, it seems more impossible than ever to see a green name receive the top bill— raising concerns that big names are cast for profit and not artistic integrity.…

With an abundance of new characters in “When Calls the Heart” this season, sometimes only the most observant viewers might notice the handful of smaller roles that pop up now and then on the show. I was immeasurably excited when I finally figured out who the character Katie Yost was, and once I connected with the actress who portrays her, Larissa Albequerque, I knew at once that I wanted to find out more about this young actress. Thankfully, she was able to set aside some time recently to chat about WCTH as well as give insight into the occasionally overlooked Katie Yost. What inspired you to become an actress? From the time I was 7 or so, I was fascinated with acting.…

I have done my research and I know how arduous and extensive going down that path will be, especially since I am financially disadvantaged. The heat from the stage lights, the watchful gazes of the audience, and the sweat dripping off of our faces as we struggle to remember our lines, these sensations of being on stage are what caused the performing arts to become not only an activity, but also a passion and an unexpected source of personal growth. Through my experiences in drama and music I have been able to discover my own meaning of fulfillment and define who the person behind my appearance truly is. My passion in the performing arts started when I was a young child first learning to play the violin. Picking up the violin at the age of 6, I became stuck on one of the most basic songs for almost a whole year. At that time no one believed that I could play the violin, my teacher thought that I was too hyperactive and even my mom attempted to convince me to quit.…

Much of my life when I was younger was spent singing and attending many performing arts camps. When I was in seventh grade, I got the lead in the winter musical…
