College Admissions Essay: A Career As An Architect

Decent Essays
I picked this career because of my childhood, creativity, and inspiration. When i was a child I loved legos, I played with them all the time which drove me to like building houses and other creations just what an architect does. As the years have passed i’m happy that i’m still creative and will always have an idea at hand. I was inspired by my aunt who is an architect to pursuit the career in the first place she always showed me her drawings and blueprints on how she did it. All of my childhood and my pool of idea with a little inspiration have lead me to want to achieve my dream job an architect.

When i was in high school I achieved a scholarship with taking a few classes such as geometry or art and design along with my job as an intern to get me as ready as possible for my job. With a scholarship I could afford 4 years in college to be ready for when I got out. The classes I was taking in high school helped me be prepared for college a little better. Learning from an architect (man paul was cool) really helped me get ready for the projects I would be assigned in college. Overall without that scholarship or the knowledge of my internship I would not be here today.

Throughout my high school career, I worked towards the scholarship aspect. Despite where I am currently, my freshman year had not gone as well as I hoped it would.…

In high school, I took advantage of AP and honors classes to prepare myself for college because I knew then that college was the key for a better future. I know that I do not want to work a minimum wage job for the rest of my life as my father does, which is precisely why my parents have always encouraged me to do well in my studies. Although school was difficult in terms of time management, learning and applying what I know, and studying, it was all worth the stress and sacrifices because I’ve earned college credit, in turn saving me money. Through challenging myself in these classes, I’ve learned important lessons such as that learning from my mistakes and that success comes from failure.…

I hear a buzz… It is just distant at first, but slowly it seems to be coming closer and closer. I open an eye simply to realize it is my clock alarm. Then, a vision crosses my mind; I see myself walking down an airplane runway; there is a plane parked in the distance, and the wind is gushing at me.…
