College Admissions Essay: A Career As An Executive Assistant

As long as I can remember I never really was interested in any career fields that most of my peers and associates wanted. While many grew up knowing what their dream career goal some wanting to be a doctor while others wanted to be a lawyer or a police officer I at 22 years old today are still confused at what my dream career would be. I believed I wanted to be a lawyer at one point in my life because I love debating and arguing all the time while at other times I wanted to work in healthcare administrator because I felt as if it would be a stable career choice with endless opportunities. As I continue to grow in life I am constantly having issues sticking to a career choice and loving it. I some days am so sure with what I want and other days I am very confused. As I have navigated my way through college I have been immersed with courses that align many different career goals and have been able to narrow down my descion as of right now to become an executive assistant. Coming from someone who has a marketing associate’s degree it seems strange that I would not just go for a marketing career but the truth in the matter is that I have realized that while marketing is very interesting and exciting. I had to sit down and have a conversation with myself and try to find something I could be truly passionate about. Then I realized that being an executive assistant would be something I enjoy with great passion. The reason why I believe I would love this career choice would be due to the nature of loving administrative duties. I would love to be in charge of calendar management as well as traveling plans. At my current job as I sit alongside an executive assistant who takes care of various directors and chief information officers and throughout the day have become fascinated with the idea of eventually become an executive assistant
