College Admissions Essay: A Career As A Medical Assistant

I believe anything is possible. if you put your mind to it, then you can do it. One of my main goals in life is to become successful, while being able to help others. That goal is to be a doctor. I know I am going to face many obstacles during the process and I'm ready for them when they come. Of course I can't be a doctor in a year, there are many steps and I know that with hard work I can do it. Starting off as a medical assistant would be wonderful, because once I graduate I can start working in the field and still keep going to school to achieve my goal. While working I will be able to learn new things everyday and better my work skills with medicine and with people. My education won't stop when I graduate from Allen School of Health Sciences, that is where it's starting. This scholarship will help me in so many ways. Especially in the financial area, money is always a key factor and in education it takes a big part. Having the opportunity to lower the cost of your tuition is a blessing in disguise. At the moment I work with my mom as a house cleaner and it is not an easy job. At the end of the day, your legs give up on you, your back aches, sometimes we do not eat properly for the fact that we cannot be late to the next house. It is hard earning money in this business. For me it is better to go to a clinic for the fact that it is a lot cheaper than going to the hospital with no health insurance as it is to many other people. Clinics always have the tendencies to get busy. Once I have graduated and settled in with a job, I would like to dedicate my free time in volunteering in clinics to help out in what I can. It can be as simple as giving professional advice, but at least I will be helping my community. As my healthcare education expands I would like my need to help others expand as well.
