College Admissions Essay: A Career As A Car

Improved Essays
Cars are my first and fondest memories from my children, and even till this day, after 14 years, my love for them has never faded. When I was little, cars were my only point of reference, and everything I read, wrote, and drew was about cars. It is a passion that I never seem to get enough. I had always dreamed of going to a school where everything you do or learn about is about for related to cars. I never thought it would exist until I first encountered automotive design. Now, as I grow older and become more mature, my goal is no longer simply fantasizing over my dream cars, but how to utilize my creativity and artistic skills to serve a greater purpose. I thrive to improve people’s standard of living through my creations and to glorify God’s …show more content…
It opened up an entire world of new possibilities to me, and at the same thing also reflecting how unknowledgeable I am in this field of study. Even though I have been engrossed in drawing and studying cars throughout my childhood, I still cannot possibly say that I am an expert in automotive, because there is no end to learning. Through education, I see how fortunate I am; being able to receive great education when there are millions of people in this world who are living in poverty and who are unable to have this privilege. Therefore, being able to make a difference in this world and to improve people’s standard of living are my priorities in design and they keep me motivated on this journey of becoming the best automotive designer that I can be. Just like what Ray Eames, one of the most influential American designers in history, has once said,“ (a great designer’s goal is always) to make the best for the most for the least.” Creating an attractive product or vehicle is simple, on the other hand, being able to make it functional and to make connections with our daily lives is what all designers should thrive for, because at the end of the day “what works good is better than what looks good because what works good …show more content…
I believe that “in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth,” and more importantly, created us the human beings. It was through taking 2 years of Sports Science that I’ve truly realized and was astonished by how powerful and magnificent God’s creations are. Let’s take our bodies for an example. Our eyes capture panoramas that no other high-tech cameras can; our motor units allow our muscles to work with great strength or precision; our intelligence allow us to think, create, and innovate things that no other species can. No matter how advance or complicated a machine may be, never will it be able to comparable to the level of complexity in a human body. I regard God as the ultimate designer because He ‘designs’ with the intention to benefit all of us and lays everything out in perfect harmony. He said let the land produce vegetation and there they are, trees that provide us with food, water, and shelter. Isn’t that the essential purpose of design, to serve the people and the community? Since I find my inspirations through nature and God’s creations, so shouldn’t I glorify Him through my work and achievements? Furthermore, through my designs I want to inspire people to appreciate the beauty of nature and to set an example for the younger

A designer is a person who devises or executes designs, especially one who creates forms, structures, and patterns, as for works of art or machines. Things are defined in my paper as objects. To begin with Premise 1: “In order to have purpose, something must be intended to play a certain role.” If something is preforming a certain role it is doing so for a reason, this reason being its purpose for doing so. As an example a refrigerators role is to continuously run keeping its contents cool allowing foodstuffs to be kept for longer without spoiling.…

He stated that they realized most of their potential customers who can afford their products require a certain amount of fantasy, luxury and embellishment in order to fulfil their aesthetic dreams. I agree with Julian Robinson’s claim that it wasn’t just for the customers, it was a good reason for the designers to fulfil their own aesthetic dreams. These dreams being more real to the designers makes it more emotionally fulfilling for them to design and create their products. Hence, Robinson said, “it became the task of these designers to proclaim function as the determining factor of their new design forms, yet to be guided by other values when actually designing.” It was the beginning of the integration of functionality and creative form.…
