I’ve lived in a suburb area of Chandler since I was born, and my schools have all been within 5 minutes of me. It takes about 25 minutes to get to downtown, and even then, there’s not much for me to do as even a high schooler. University of Chicago, to me, represents the birth of a new experience for me. The city atmosphere, as advertised extensively in the promotional material, is entirely diverse and different for me, and I’d love to envelop myself in the smells, textures and images of Chicago. Also important for me is the diversity of culture; from the tiny “The Life of the Mind” book that I got in the mail, I saw all the majors, all the houses, all the clubs, and since then they’ve been swirling around in my head.…

The activity to be conducted is to be completed in an outside environment. In this instance, it will be completed in the student’s backyard or at the local park, where there is a flat concrete surface to bounce the balls. If this activity was undertaken in a school setting, it would be completed at the school’s basketball courts or the flattest surface available at the time. The learning environment therefore would be outside. As Arthur et al (2015) argues outside learning settings are “spaces where children can reconnect to the natural environment” (p. 365).…
