I enjoyed reading your discussion about positively using conflict to promote interdisciplinary teamwork and collaboration. As you mentioned, dedicated work of the IDT is most of the time able to work through barriers. According to Runyan, "when something doesn’t feel right, take a moment and look at the big picture and find a different approach to keep going." We must accept mistake because the road is not going to be smooth but use the mistakes as an opportunity to learn and keep moving (Runyan, 2014). The facility I work at also does a care team conference once on day shift. All teams of practice meet to discuss the needs of the patients. The team members consist of include nurses, charge nurse, unit manager, social workers, PT, OT, and physicians.
