Colin Stagg Research Paper

Rachel Nickell was born in 1968. She had a two year old son called Alex. She was with her son in wimbledon common when she was brutally stabbed 49 times and raped. After a lengthy investigation Colin Stagg was charged before it became a cold case. In 2002 scotland yard revisited the case with more advanced investigative methods. In 2008 Robert napper a serial murder rapist pleaded guilty to the Rache Nickel manslaughter. This man had already been convicted of a double killing in 1993 of the same kind the judge then sentenced him to a lifetime at Broadmoor high security hospital. The Son alex finally spoke about the horrific crime that occurred in wimbledon common that day. He said he remembers watching his mum bleeding out, he then picked up a banknote that fell out of her pocket and stuck it on his mums wounds like a plaster. “He knew even at that age his mum wasn't coming back to him.”

Colin stagg was later linked to the crime, he was framed although he didn't confess and was charged with murder in 1993. The police used a method called the ‘honey trap’. They acted like another female police officer was also in with him and that they committed this crime together. Stagg and this female officer were found not guilty and also were compensated for this injustice.

The serial rapist Robert Napper admitted killing Ms Nickell on wimbledon common in 1992.

The real killer of Rachel nickell was found because of other copycat crimes like these committed . The murder of samantha and her 4 year old daughter was a similar case and was later found that Robert Napper committed these murders as
