“Always do your best!” This is the theme that inspired Colin Powell throughout his life. He learned to live this mantra from his parents, determination, and work ethic.
Colin’s parents were the biggest inspiration on his life. They showed him the way of hard work. They had two or three jobs at once, showing that hard work gets you more things. They would make sure that he was always at school and on time. They even had neighbors watching out for him.
In addition to having great parents, Colin had great determination. He worked his hardest in school. This has lead him to a decent job as a porter. Doing what he was told, he had even better determination of getting a better job. Colin did just that, making his way to the top. Finally
