Colin Kaernick Research Paper

Football players. We all know they play they’re practicing pretty much 24/7. But do they pay attention to the world outside? Do they take a break from football and try to help the world? Well, one of them did, and his name is Colin Kaepernick. Colin used to be the San Francisco 49ers quarterback. Colin was adopted after a few weeks after he was born, by Rick and Teresa Kaepernick, who already had two children of their own but had lost two other babies not long after birth because of heart defects(biography.com). He was the first to kneel when the national anthem played in one of his football games, he refused to stand up because he stated that policemen don’t treat black people with as much respect as white.
Colin said that some policemen treat black people unequally compared to white people, “I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color” kaepernick said in one of his interviews (brainyquote.com). A lot of people agreed to what colin said, one week later a few more players joined kaepernick in his act. Today, at least 50 NFL (National Football League) players are kneeling when the national anthem is playing.
