Colin Kaepernick's Fight For Equality

The United States is the land of the free and home of the brave, it is a place that welcomes everyone. Many different ethnicities living in the same nation as a whole makes up a melting pot nation. We coexist with each other and have overcame many obstacles, together, throughout many years. In recent years, issues have emerged amongst the minorities of our nation wanting equal rights and freedoms. The main focus is on black rights and police brutality against them. These issues have been occurring repeatedly for a few years now and people like Colin Kaepernick are beginning to stand up and speak for the minorities. Each and every person has different ways for fighting for total equality, but Kaepernick chose to sit during the playing of the national anthem. This has caused a tremendous amount of controversy amongst the people, police departments, and other teams in the league. A difference that can be life changing for some, but they all took a different approach than Kaepernick did. These athletes went into their communities and helped out or wore apparel speaking out against the wrongdoings. Those athletes did not disrespect their country in fighting for this cause, they did so by trying to bring the nation closer to whole again because disrespecting the nation will only tear it apart even more so. This nation needs to become whole once again, some understand how to do that. While Kaepernick needs to figure out ways to make a difference but not tearing his country apart in trying to make a difference. A change needs to occur but if Kaepernick stays on this course, then matters will only get worse for him and the entire country
