The whole world has been creating advertisements since the early 1800’s or maybe even earlier. In a everyday life, people see advertisements in televisions, online, billboards, walls, and schools. These ads can create a sense of humor, sadness, anger, happiness and many more emotions in a person. The people who create these ads want to persuade, inform, entertain or sell something to people. In 1817 the first Colgate advertisement appeared in a New York newspaper. The toothpaste was named after a man named William Colgate, who started a starch and candle business before making toothpaste. It can irritate or soothe your eyes in many different ways, when used in the right ways, color can even save on energy consumption. The primary colors are red, yellow, and blue in the color wheel. In the Colgate ad there is two primary colors which are blue and red. There isn’t any secondary colors in the advertisement, but the secondary colors are orange, green, and purple. In the ad they used bright colors and not really any dark colors. The soldiers that are inside and around the mouth are supposedly the strong organisms that are cleaning the mouth. Which is like a tan tone color because organisms inside a human mouth is a part of nature which is what the color represents. The lips and teeth are bright colored like pink and white because the colgate toothpaste is supposed to clean a persons teeth to make them look shiner and brighter as I can tell by the picture. Color white represents goodness and positivity. The color pink represents affection and harmony . In the background is a bright color as well because it catches people attention that the toothpaste will make your teeth brighter and that Colgate is the best brand, The background is a blue sky, which blue represents heaven and freedom. The colors I mentioned above also matches the flags color and teeth color.
