Cole As My Spiritual Hero

Improved Essays
"You always need to find a means to love everyone" this quote is the most common thing I hear come out of my hero's mouth. The definition of lovingness is a strong positive emotion of regard and affection which my hero possesses greatly. For my modern day spiritual hero I chose my best friend, and one of the greatest people that I know and look up to Cole Walker.

The primary reason I chose Cole as my spiritual hero was because he relates to me in so many different ways. Cole and I are both singers and constantly are doing duets about the Lord. I feel that Cole possesses a great personality and connects very well with people. He can constantly find something in common with people and, that is a trait that I hope I can one day offer.

Social philosopher Erich Fromm formed a definition of love that is simple, yet comprehensive. He broke love into four connected but distinct elements: respect, care, knowledge, and responsibility (hooks 19). These forms can exist on their own, but when authentic and genuine love is practiced, the four must exist together. We must, at the very least, respect others. Often times, when a relationship is established, we go above that basic respect and care for others.…

With love in our hearts we can thrive and grow, when love goes absent the heart grows cold and we are brought to a…
