Dorothy: Hello! It’s great to be here!
Interviewer: We’re glad to have you here too! We have some questions for you regarding the war and your responsibilities and such, if that’s alright? Our first question is: Why did you choose to enlist?
Dorothy: Well I personally joined because as a woman, this was my first real chance to be apart of the war and I didn’t want it to go to waste. Also, I graduated from Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal and I was a nurse there already, so I decided to continue my passion for helping people elsewhere. And the pay is much …show more content…
The main problem is vermin. There are many fleas, rats, and insects in general we have to deal with.
Interview: Oh wow that does not sound nice! What does your day usually consist of?
Dorothy: I normally help the Red Cross. So I have rolled bandages, gone to refugee camps and checked over their conditions, given them sweets and toys, and take care of them in general. I also took care of troops in hospitals. At night, trucks filled with muddy wounded soldiers would be unloaded and handed over to us.
Interviewer: I’m sure everyone you have helped greatly appreciates what you have done. Now for the last question, I would like to know what your overall opinion is on the war. Any thoughts or feeling you have.
Dorothy: One thing I can say is many of the things I have seen and the living conditions of the refugee camps have impacted me greatly. Many the stories I have are too terrible to even tell you. There are many horrors of the war that you don’t know of until you’ve witnesses them first hand. I think the quicker it all ends the better because I don’t want to see much more of what’s to come.
