At this time Greece was one of the few countries that hadn't turned communist. President Truman warned American's congress that it was their job to contain communism. America had soon saw the growth of power for the Soviets and wanted to take action admittedly. President Truman wanted to provide economic and military aid to Greece and Turkey due to them being threatened by communism. The Marshal Plan was created in 1848 and the Truman Admiration plan was to rebuild Europe. It was known as the great economic success story of the Cold War. It didn't just offer money. It offered opportunity. It gave European nations opportunity to learn technical and management that helped spread American farming techniques, labor policies, and manufacturing. In 1947, HUAC (The House Un-American Activities Committee) began an investigation into suspicion of communist activities involved with Hollywood. Hundreds of people who were involved in Hollywood movies were sent to testify due to the films presenting that the Soviet Union was "paradise on earth". Although HUAC could find little evidence of any communist going on in the films. They weren't giving up. They ended up switching their focus on the individuals political and personal belifs who work with Hollywood.
