My research interest is the connection between genetics and crime. Criminologists have always questioned why people are compelled to break the law and a focus on the biological makeup of individuals has researchers examining if people are predisposed to committing a crime. Examining the link between genetics and crime welcomes controversy and dismissal as many in the justice system feel it is not constructive to be lenient on convicted felons based on speculative research. Others feel that research in the topic is worth the effort and should be acknowledged as findings from research can possibly provide preventative strategies for people who are at risk of committing a crime due to genetics. Researchers themselves have their questions about…

Victimology Life Style Exposure The life style that the three victims, Byers, Branch and Moore had would have put them in minimal amounts of situations where they would be exposed to victimisation. As eight year old children they would have had School Monday to Friday, where they would have been overseen by a number of adults and be in the company of numerous children. This means that most days of the week and most hours of the day the victims would have had low risk of exposure to criminal behaviour. There is also little evidence to suggest domestic violence in the homes of the victims, as however, there is only Byer’s fathers transcript in the Case Materials (1993)…

Compare and Contrast Essay Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s “The Dying Detective”, as well as Josh Pachter’s “Invitation to a Murder” both feature the tales of two riveting mysteries. Although they were two different stories, several ideas existed in each that ran parallel in relation to one another. These consistencies include the presence of premeditated actions from the characters, evidence of situational irony, and the indication of a foul play mystery. Conversely, a collection of concepts support the notion that the two stories were unlike each other in major ways.…
