Henry Hill is a half-Irish, Half Sicilian kid from a poor neighborhood in Brooklyn who grew up idolizing wise guys. Henry starts to hang out with the mobsters, running errands and odd tasks. He then gets noticed by the boss Paulie who takes him in as a surrogate son. When Henry becomes a teen he is introduced to the world of petty crime. He is able to distinguish himself as a stand-up guy, instead of ratting out his accomplices he chooses to go to jail. From this point he becomes part of the family. With Henry psycho friend Tommy, they both rise through the ranks becoming Pauline’s lieutenant. Henry learns along with his mentor Jimmy that because they are not 100% Italian they can never become a “made guy”, which is a actual member the crime family. Henry finds out he has become the target of the feds and mobsters who determined he has become a liability with his reckless actions and dealings. Henry is finally captured by the fed and turns states evidence, rats out his fellow mobster in return for witness
