Based on Mina’s diagnosis, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is the theory that I choose to work with her. Based on CBT, she is simply a person who is trying to make sense of her environment. However, her behavior is her response to her environment in which he cognitive process is totally connected to her life as the only child with multicultural parenting styles. Mina is struggling to adapt to her environment. She seeks her ways to build her world in order to understand how her meanings are related to her behavior and her feelings. It is essential to know how Mina thinks about things around her and what the content of her thinking is. Her behaviors and emotions indicates how her thought process.
Mina is hiding some of her maladaptive schemas, which influence her perspective of the world. Looking carefully for evidence of her core beliefs, attitudes, rules and assumptions is essential as well. Also, her intermediate beliefs relate to her schema and core beliefs. These beliefs are mostly adaptive as well. However, a boarder goal is to teach her problem-solving strategies, which she can use in the situations. In the first session will address three goals such as establishing the working relationship, setting goals for her such as developing strategies to help her control her anger, helping her identify and evaluate her beliefs and thoughts and improving her relationship with her mother, identifying her beliefs and ATs, which are related to the situations that she feels criticized and using strategies in the situations and socializing her. Helping her to solve her problems and improve her mood by teaching her the cognitive model is important as
