Firstly, I feel as though hypnosis can modify an individual’s personality, actions, and bad habits in a positive manner. Secondly, hypnosis of course does have negative effects; it all depends on how you allow it to affect you. If you have a positive mindset, then it will have a positive effect on you, and vice versa. The real-life experiences that I had with this was two things, firstly, I used it for dental work and it was amazing, it benefited me in a positive way and that makes me feel like hypnosis is an advantage and has a positive impact. The second real-life example is when I was trying to quit smoking. To attempt quitting smoking is a very difficult task, and when my friend introduced me to a hypnotist to help me quit, it helped me quit within two weeks. Hypnosis helped me in quitting smoking as I was controlled to resist cigarettes by the hypnotist, which was a very difficult decision to make, however, it paid off.
