Code Of Ethics In Criminal Investigation

Codes of ethics are usually adapted by dissimilar organizations in order to help its members by giving them the understanding of things, which are right and wrong. The understanding normally needs to be applied in the decisions made. An ethical code universally entails documents at some levels. There are three levels in total; firstly, there is the commerce code, secondly, code of behavior for human resources and lastly the specialized practice codes. In law enforcement, there are codes that have to be followed by all the officials. One of the codes of behavior for this official’s is by giving protection to all individuals against acts that are considered as going against the law. The protection has to be consistent in that it has to replicate elevated degrees of the officials’ tasks, which is a requisite of their career. The purpose of this paper is to discuss how an established “code of ethics” can guide law enforcement and forensic investigators in promoting ethical behaviors, especially when it comes to crime scene
