Nursing a profession has a notable history of apprehensions for the safety and health of the sick, injured, susceptible and for public justice. Nursing has been identified as the most trusted profession. What builds the nursing profession? One of the hallmarks of a nursing profession is the code of ethics; “A code of ethics is a formal statement of the rules of ethical behavior for particular group of people of individuals”(p.57). In the profession of nursing this is the American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics. The origin of the The code of ethics for nursing goes back to the late 1800s in the foundation of ANA. Nursing code of ethics was formally adopted in the 1950. The ANA has outlined nine ethical provisions in Code of Ethics
