Kate is a final year student in the MSW program, she has a part time job as a waitress in a local restaurant and intern three days a week to enable her have the accumulated required hour for field. Kate struggle financially and can barely afford the necessary text book or mandatory fees as he no longer qualifies for student loan due to her mother’s income; even though her mother does not assist her financially. Kate often complain she has no motivation her field placement because she feels overwhelmed with the day to day task at the field agency. She complains about the distance between her job and the field agency which does not help in saving gas in her vehicle. In addition, she emphasized not to have found her niche in the social work career. …show more content…
and Mrs. Dr. Brown who ae both psychiatrist. Dr. Mrs. Brown visits the clinic three days in a week for clients medication checks as well as monitor the day to day activities of the program. Each time she visits, she complains how things are done the way they should and demand for immediate changes every week. Alex feels does not like this because a majority of the changes suggested by Dr. Mrs. Brown is not part pf his job description as an LCSW as well as contradicts the NASW code of ethics. Alex had to take up multiple task and work additional hours just to get the job done, but does not get rewarded. On the other hand, his interns reported to Alex that they feel overwhelmed with the weekly changes done in procedures made by Mrs. Dr. Brown as it contradicts what he advised as their supervisor. In order not to give the intern clue that he is also overwhelmed to avoid encouraging them to be discouraged; Alex promised his interns that he was going to meet with Dr. Mrs. Brown. After the meeting, Alex changed completely in his work ethics as he was no longer able to supervise effectively or display enthusiasm in his …show more content…
She is well liked and knowledgeable about her job, and have no history of motivation problems based on her current and previous placement. Even though Angela gets paid for her services at the hospital which many student interns wished for, she regularly shows up late, and heads out twenty minutes before the required closing hour. While speaking to her friends about her frustration, she mentioned that the doctors and nurses have no idea what she should be doing at the hospital and do not border referring clients to her for session.
