(MIP-2) There were certain requirements for a knight/vassal. A knighty had specific duties. The knight has been bred since babyhood to fight and become a knight. He would have to perform specific duties and tasks in order to become a knight (Bishop, Morris 77). The purpose of a night is “To protect the Church, to fight against treachery, to reverence to priesthood, to fend off injustice from the poor, to make peace in your own providence, to shed blood for your brethren, and if he must, to lay down your life.” (English philosopher John Salisbury). A knight would have to follow the Code of Chivalry. The code of chivalry was a warrior code that said specific expectations to be in the military and to have military behavior (Smith, Cynthia 3-4).
