1.0 Background of Cocolin Industries Sdn Bhd

Cocolin Industries Sdn Bhd is a coconut-based manufacturer was legally established as a corporation in 1997 under the Companies Act 1965. Main objective for this company is to participate in the government and to make a serious and sincere effort to grow food industry as a specific example in Sarawak. Cocolin has the goal and commitment to produce safe and good quality food for consumers. The Cocolin’s factory is located at a rural area nearby to Asajaya town with address of Lot 334, Jalan Rebak, 94600 Asajaya, Kota Samarahan.
Vision of Cocolin is to be the premier producer of coconut products by 2010. Besides that, mission set by the Cocolin manager are to work closely with Malaysian Government

SWOT refers to Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats. SWOT analysis is a widely useful tool for understanding and decision-making in marketing, strategic planning, business planning, competitor evaluation, research reports and also a business analysis technique that organization can perform for each of its products, services and markets when deciding on the best way to achieve future growth.

Strengths are things that can help a company to add value or encourage company to a competitive advantage. It is include internal capabilities, resources, and positive situational factors that may help the company to serve its customers and achieve its objectives. The strength of Cocolin Industries Sdn Bhd is the quality of its products. Nowadays, all people are very conscious about their health. So, Cocolin has produce product which is low fat desiccated coconut, coconut cream powder, frozen pasteurized coconut milk. Besides that, these products are produced by using highly hygienically sorted white kemel (endosperm) from coconut harvested from the coconut plantation in the vicinity of the mil and near to seaside where nutritiously rich seawater is available throughout the year. For example, hawkers who sell cookies in Asajaya would buy coconut milk produced by Cocolin to make their cookies more delicious. Furthermore, Malay is the majority villagers that live in the Rebak and Asajaya village. Most of the Malay family consumes curry frequently. Therefore, they purchase the Cocolin’s product needed by them from the grocery shop in Asajaya or any supermarket at Kota
