Coco Chanel Quotes

Improved Essays
Coco Chanel was a woman of great intelligence whose influence revolutionized the way women wore clothes and made a huge impact on the fashion industry world. Her quote: “The most courageous act is still to think for yourself. Aloud” contains a huge life lesson that I agree with. Coco Chanel was trying to say that you shouldn’t be scared to speak your mind and you should question the standards society has put out for you. This quote reminds me of a time when I, like Coco Chanel, stood up for what I believed in and spoke my mind; little did I realize how big of an impact it had on me and others. The experience that comes to mind when I read Coco Chanel’s famous words was when I saw someone getting bullied at school. He was getting teased

This article is similar to the article “The Fashion Industry: Free to Be an Individual” by Hannah Berry, because both articles speak on how women need to embrace their individuality and reach deep inside of themselves and allow that to show in every aspect of their lives. Each and every woman is free to be exactly who she wants to be, no matter what anyone else thinks. For example, in the comedy, 30 Rock, Liz Lemon “wore Duane Reade bags for underwear” (Nussbaum 57) and decided to be a cheerleader and shake her butt as an older lady. This showed she didn’t care what others thought and was comfortable just being herself. NEED STUFF…

The story of Daniel Mendoza in Schechter and Clarke’s graphic history novel Mendoza the Jew perfectly embodies religious prosecution in eighteenth century England. Daniel Mendoza, an 18th century Jewish boxer, fought a battle in and out of the ring against religious prosecution in late 1700’s England. Being born into a deeply religious Jewish family Daniel learned the importance of his faith from a young age, and stood up for it his entire life. Quote: We chose this quote because it showed how evil Madam Defarge is towards the aristocrats. Lucid and Little Lucid are condemned to death (registers in the knitting) by Madam Defarge merely because of association with an aristocrat. This quote shows the contrast between Madame Defarge and Lucie and how Madame Defarge's evil makes Lucie look purer and vice versa. The quote shows that there have been many years of suffering for the wives and mothers of peasants, this is how she justifies killing a mother and child. Madame Defarge asks why should Lucie be saved from their suffering if all the women before her were not saved from suffering?…
