I was thinking it was the worst day in my life. But to find out, it was a good day. That had opened my eyes. I have to thank Oklahoma State Trooper Anderson for pulling me over that night.

It was a Saturday night when I decided to have some beers with some friends. I also took my kids over to go swimming that night. As it started getting late, I went home and put my kids to sleep. At this time, I was also having my own fun that night too. I had been doing drugs, cocaine, that night. Along with several beers that were in my system. I was a 9 year cocaine addict. I decided to go to the Comanche Casino in Oklahoma. At the time I was living in Wichita Falls, TX. As I crossed the border of Texas and Oklahoma, I exited on the off ramp. I see flashing lights ahead of me. As I stopped and rolled down my window, Officer Anderson asked me “If I had been drinking”. I told him “That I had a few, an hour and half ago”. So as I moved my car over to the side of the road. As I was doing my sobriety test, Officer Anderson asked if they could search my car. I said “yes go ahead”. Knowing that if they were to find what I had inside the car. It would not be a good thing. As he showed me the empty bag of cocaine, that I did not know that was in there, and said “I could be facing a very long time in prison”. I got scared, because only thing I could think of was my kids. They were at home all by themselves. Not knowing what a bad decision I had made. I called my sister and my mother to pick the kids up for me. I look at it as a good day now. Because if I had not gotten pulled over that night, I would still probably be addicted and maybe next time it could have been worse. Maybe next time I might have killed someone, myself or my kids from drinking and driving or being under the influence of drugs. Then I would not be able to live with myself. I thank Officer Anderson for opening my eyes that night. To seeing
