At a global level pharmaceutical vending machines have gained popularity and are widely distributed and used. However, pharmaceutical machines are migrating to those which dispense prescription medications in addition to the over the counter medication. A few models are strictly prescription medications and there are inherent concerns of this distribution method but so far seem to not be a hindrance. In the case of Oasis, the customer is at two levels; business to business and business to customer. As such, Oasis needs to ensure communication and quality assurance of their products are up to its expected standard. Particularly as the business customer would be the ones interfacing with the end customer and not an Oasis representative. To give the customer an avenue of interacting with Oasis, all machines will have visible tags with the office address and a hotline number to call in the event of any issues with the machines or products.
“CRM is gradually helping organizations capture a better understanding of customer needs and behaviour.” (Garg and Kapoor, 2015)
Oasis can also use forecasting as a means of ensuring they are in sync with customer’s needs and requirements of the organisation. The PharmaShop24 machine has a reporting tool which would report the item sales and from this, Oasis can view what are the best sellers, how quickly they sell and when would be optimal timing to restock. This also ensures just in time delivery as the machine would consistently be replenished of the items.
At this point in time however, the company does not utilize this feature. Senior Management has requested the cost associated with the service is not viable due to their unhappiness with the product’s current performance.
