“Flexible Working System” in their language was simply the flexible working schedule in most of the divisions. The system allows the employees to arrive at the workplace just any time they want to before 6pm and work for 8 hours and the aim of the system is to allows the employees to balance their work life according to their demand. Later in 2011, Samsung adopted a system called “mobile office” that allow the employees to use their phone for emails which then encourage a more freedom way of work in the office. Samsung used the results to reward, promote, develop and select the leaders. As the aspect of managing the performance of the employees, Samsung evaluate the working processes, results and competency of each individual as well as career management. Samsung also stated that they worked hard to fairly evaluate each individual and treat them the wat they meant to be treated. The steps of managing the performance including setting goals, regular interviews, evaluate and interviews based on result, the order was arranged in order. The evaluations were conducted using a computer system to avoid mistake and after the evaluation, if an employee was not satisfied they can order a re-evaluation process.
Conclusion
All the ideas of performance management of Samsung provided in the report of sustainability in 2014 and 2016 were innovative and all boost the creativity and the morale of the employees. These performance management strategies helped the employees to feel needed and all of them were respected evenly. Samsung has done several best fit and best practice with some of the management practices are adopted and some are created by them based on the current situation, one of the adopted was “Mobile Office” which had been used widely since the era of smartphones
