Coca Cola Market Structure Analysis

Market structures describe the competitive environment in which an organization operates. The characteristics of the market structure will have a major influence on the competitive strategies and tactics that are implemented by firms. As I chose Coca-Cola Company for my research during my research I analysis that it operates in an oligopoly (Neary 2010). Oligopoly market structure is that market structure within which tiny range of firms has sizable amount of market share. It is like monopoly expects that instead of one company, 2 companies influence in market share.
The soft drink industry can be seen as an oligopoly for several reasons. First, two firms control the vast majority of the market share, which include Coca-Cola and PepsiCo. Coca-Cola

In my research topic, primary demand is demand of soft drink as well as selective demand is demand of Coca-Cola’ Coke Zero. As I mentioned above that it contains zero sugar. Form last ten years people’s thinking about soft drinks has totally changed. There buying decision of carbonated drinks are changed. Within few years people move towards that products which are more safe for health. Now people used that product which has less sugar. People prefer Coca-Cola because it is biggest company in soft drinks industry and it is more responsible company as compare to others like PepsiCo. Moreover Coca-Cola is most trusted band in soft drink industry by consumers. Coca Cola was ranked fourth on the World’s Most Valuable Brands by Forbes and the World’s Leading Beverage Company. Consumers have faith on this company because it is king of soft drink industry. Other thing is that coke zero has same taste along with zero fat and sugar. Coca-Cola says this that tastes original Coca-Cola in Coke Zero. Coke zero designed for men because diet coke did not like by men they thought that it is for women (Elliott, 2007).
Coca-Cola designed to satisfy the consumer’s desires. The company is ready to produce drinks for several different target markets: ages, sexes, and etc. The products are sold to numerous populations all around the world. In our world nowadays, individuals need to live healthier lives. Coca-Cola recognized this need and begun to provide different beverages that are satisfying those customers. Coca-Cola products are purchased by different classes, however primarily by middle to high level class. Additionally, many folks nowadays make their purchases decisions based on the company’s ethics and, or social responsibility.
