My future career plan is to become an officer in the U.S. Coast Guard. One of the requirements to become an officer is to earn a bachelor’s degree. I plan on majoring in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering because I want to design ships for the Coast Guards use. I decided I want to join the Coast Guard because they focus on humanitarian missions such as search and rescue, marine safety, aids to navigation and many more. I have always enjoyed helping people and I plan on helping people with the Coast Guard. Ever since my first community service event, I fell in love with community service and have done it throughout my high school career when opportunities arose.
