My career aspirations can be summarized by two goals. I believe I am called to fly helicopters for the United States Coast Guard, and eventually serve in this nation's legislative branch. To obtain my first goal I will become a commissioned officer in the USCG via its academy or the College Student Pre-Commissioning Initiative program. Getting hired by the Central Intelligence Agency has been my primary focus for almost four years now. While I was still serving in the Army I had decided to start college classes so as to expedite the process of getting my degree once my time serving in uniform was over. I knew that I wanted to continue to serve my country, but I also knew that I wanted to see the world, and to be challenged while doing so. After doing some research into my options I decided that pursuing a career with the CIA was by far the most appealing thing I could possibly imagine. Working in the DC area at the CIA’s headquarters would obviously be an incredible achievement for me, but I still want more than that.…

The U.S Coast Guard is one of the fifth branches of the United States Military, and most people haven't a clue what they do. A couple of years ago, if someone would have asked me ‘what is the Coast Guard and what do they do’, I too would have no idea what to answer. Over the past few years, there is a family that I have grown very close with and the Coast Guard has played a huge part in their lives. The father was in the Coast Guard for 29 years and retired as a captain. Over those 29 years, the family moved about every 3 years all over the country.…

Describe your educational and career goals and explain what or who has inspired or helped shape these goals. During my high school years, I recall working in the fields during vacation breaks with my mother harvesting tomatoes, picking up cherries, and pruning grape vines.
