What is global warming? Global warming is “a gradual increase in the overall temperature of the earth’s atmosphere generally attributed to the greenhouse effect caused by increased levels of carbon dioxide chlorofluorocarbons, and other pollutions.” (Google. Global Warming) with that said I truly believe that global warming is truly a “thing” that people of all ages, race and cultural backgrounds should take serious and not ignore. With that said as a whole we need to start taking it serious not only as a community, but as a nation because of the long-term effects that can untimely be the end to a great thing we call the United States of America and even possible the whole wide world. Appenzeller’s article continued to amaze me because it continued to show moderate examples of other natural and man-made resources that contributed to the up roaring in global warming. By reading the article I learned that using electricity in and of itself isn’t bad nor does it affect the atmosphere leading to global warming, but the problem is how we produce the man-made electricity, most of the problem around the world mainly in the united states is that almost ninety two percent of the electricity produced in the united states of America is made with the production of coal hence the article’s name “The Coal Paradox”.
