Introduction New Orleans, Louisiana was awarded its first National Football League franchise on November 1, 1966. The franchise became the 16th team in the National Football League and was named the Saints due to the fact that the birthday of the franchise falls on the Roman Catholic Church’s All Saints Day; widely appropriate considering New Orleans is predominately a Catholic city. The city of New Orleans and its beloved franchise has had to deal with some of the most adverse situations imaginable. For example, on August 29, 2005 Hurricane Katrina devastated the city of New Orleans and caused widespread damage to the Saints home stadium, the Louisiana Superdome. That year the Saints went just 3-13 however, bounced back in 2006 with a trip…

Jim Brown’s vision of the field and of his teammates was another skill that made him the best in the NFL. He could see what was coming at him from all corners of the pitch. He used his exceptional speed to gain more yards by using his peripheral vision to see where the defensive pursuit was originating from and run way from it. Brown was also able to block for other backs. Despite most running backs not being good blockers, Brown was an all-around player.…

Global Effects The Super Bowl utter dominance within the U.S. fails to translate onto the international stage. It is behind a number of sports, such as soccer, rugby, even cricket. When compiling a list of the all-time great quarterbacks in the National Football League one may mention names such as Joe Montana, Dan Morino, Peyton Manning, John Elway, or Otto Graham. Due to the controversy surrounding his team and his play in the past decade some may decide to leave a name off of this list. This name is Tom Brady. While it is certainly reasonable to question his spot in history because of this controversy, what is undeniable is Brady’s remarkable skills at the quarterback position. To many these skills would include arm strength, accuracy, and athleticism.…
