Coach Mal: The Best Basketball Coach

Improved Essays
Coach Mal
Do you ever have that someone that helps you through everything? My person is Mallory Singleton, or Coach Mal. She is the best coach I have ever had. She was the assistant basketball coach for SMU and head AAU coach for Texas Express. Coach Mal is not the type of coach to only teach the skills of basketball. She teaches you how to use your brain and real life scenarios to contribute to the game. The bad thing about my season with Texas Express was, we lost more games than we could count. It brought not only me, but the whole team down many times. The result to the losing made us play bad because we felt like we could never win, so we did not try anymore. We let fatigue get to our heads and began to jog instead of sprint. Coach Mal

Like all children all I ever wanted was to be big and do big people things. I engaged in a few family members that I would look up to and try everything they did. I use to pretend to go grocery shopping and being a parent at times. At the age of eight, I had worn the worst pain ever and that was watching my five, year old brother getting hit by a car while trying to cross the street riding a bicycle that had a loose chain. I remember him trying to get up and get to me, but a few adults that had witnessed the accident had told him to lay down.…

The Seattle Seahawks have a one of a kind coach named Pete Carroll. The Seahawks head coach likes to have fun during practice and in meetings and even has a mini basketball hoop in the practice facility that they can use in practice and sometimes he will stop meetings to have a shooting contest on it. He also sometimes likes to play blaring music to let the players have fun. Even though he encourages the players to be themselves in practice or in games he does not like when they start yelling or cursing. I have seen bad records by the Seahawks, but this is the worst of all.…

The Sport That Made Me As the clock counted down 3, 2, 1 I knew my career was over, but it was one good ride. Playing Chester High school in the Suburban One playoffs at Chester isn’t ideal for any basketball player from Southeastern Pennsylvania; it was truly a blessing and an experience I will remember for the rest of my life. Chester is the hometown of a couple of NBA players such as Jameer Nelson and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson. Chester has also produced other 1,000 point scorers who have gone to lay professional basketball overseas.…
