Some people are not impressed with quiet calm coaches. Normally, people want a coach to be strict but nice. Coach Hardy, my basketball coach, impacted my life. Indeed, he is a quiet person that pushed the freshman basketball team to be ecstatic. In addition, Coach Hardy is not a normal coach because of his unique coaching style. He had high expectations, so he motivated me to do my best, and I was still optimistic.
In previous years, basketball was an extremely important role to me. Earlier coaches yelled at me and did not motivate me; they instead got me upset and disappointed. In addition, other coaches did not help me to become better. They either did not tell me what I was doing wrong or they

Our Coach even made a drill designed for just sprints. Eventually, I began to realize that he was trying to make us better. At one practice, we ran thirteen down and backs over the long way over the court. Soon to follow, we ran sixteen down and backs. As the season progressed, I noticed that I would not be worn out as quick. Coach Hardy continued drilling the basics into our heads. We knew that you could not just skip the basics and go into the detailed areas. This is like a video game, because you need to know the basics. After mastering the the basics, a person can move on to the harder tasks. Because of me knowing the basics well, the next years of basketball will be focused on the details and learning new plays.
Overall, Coach Hardy made me get in shape, improved my character, and increased my confidence. How we did in games was determined on how we played as a team and not the referees or the coaches fault. Because of Coach Hardy, I think different about basketball in a delightful way. As a quiet but tough coach, we ran heaps of sprints. Given these facts, I really appreciate a coach that helps me grow to my potential and yet I still had fun. Most people do not appreciate getting yelled at especially in front of peers. Coach Hardy is a fantastic and impactful

I angrily paced around my bedroom as even thinking about the coach made my pulse raise and blood boil. I always tell myself I should say something, tell the coach how I really feel. My Cross Country/Track coach is one of the best men I know. He not only betters his runners by teaching us, but he also runs with us. Pushing us to greatness with words of encouragement, he implores us to leave all energy on the course/track and teaches us to be exceptional people outside of running. He expresses to us that no matter what we do, he will always be proud of each member of the team; therefore, our actions can’t change his love for us. That’s why it was devastating when he told us before the past track season, that he would not be able to coach for the remainder of the running season from February until we initiated winter conditioning November.…

What I knew at the time was how to love the game. Going into the season I had heard negative things about the coach from players who were still on the team as well as from the ones who had quit. Naively, I disregarded what they said since I only cared that I finally had the opportunity to play high school basketball. I remember walking into the gym on the first day of tryouts hoping to make varsity. Surrounded by friends it would be nothing but exciting and fun – little did I know.…
