Coach Hanford's Personal Failure

Decent Essays
As a result of my personal failures I failed Coach Hanford as well as our seventh period class. Due to my lack of participation our class has failed the give project. Perhaps if I had participated more in class our chances of success would have been greater. Consequently as a consequence of my lack of participation, our class failed. Coach Hanford believed our class was capable of changing the school; and we are. Although we let him down, I personally let him down by not attending class. Secondly, because I did not attend class I was left out of important class discussions about the project; leaving me out of group discussions where I could have let my ideas shine through. Unfortunately I was unable to do so, therefore I take full responsibility

Thirty years ago, students attending Wahconah Regional High School had a different experience as they went through their normal activities of the year. For example, if a student were to play two sports throughout the course of an academic year, they did not have to pay a sports fee (today that fee is $100). Why is that? The answer is simple. Funding is different because the tax system imposed on the seven surrounding towns.…

It’s a wonderful evening at Chick-fil-A this is Reagan, how can I serve you? These words will be sketched into my brain for the remainder of my life. Even though those words are associated with many failures and obstacles, they represent the great things that transpired from those struggles. Failure is not characterized by what is lost, but instead by the lessons one learns from the experience. An area of my life in which I’ve faced many struggles has been music. Ever since a young age, I have been truly passionate about music; from singing, to dancing, to playing piano and percussion. Nothing makes me happier than succeeding in something I care about, but often it is extremely difficult to achieve musical honors due to the exceptionally talented competition. Two years in a row, I failed to make the Iowa All-State Chorus.…

    Absent Student Procedure

The procedure that I implemented affects whole class student learning because I am able to more efficiently use my time. Instead of taking time out of my day to get the Absent Folder, find all of the work that belongs in the folder, and place it on the student’s desk, I can spend time teaching students. Since all of the absent student’s work is in one place, when the student returns, he is able to look through the work and ask questions when I am free, thus freeing up my time to spend teaching the whole class. The responsible student’s job was understood by the students and they were also excited to have this new duty of taking care of the absent student. I feel that this procedure gives the students some responsibility which also builds their confidence and their feeling of being a part of the class community.…

In order to share my failure and what I learned I must identify my failure. The Cambridge dictionary defines failure in three ways: a lack of success in doing something, the fact of not doing something you should have done, and the fact of something not working as it should. “The fact of not doing something you should have done” is the definition that I’m applying to this situation. There was a journey, an end result, and a failure. The failure is often the end result.…

Mr. Dhoj, my 9th grade math instructor, asked me if I had done my homework and as usual I hadn’t. I can still recall the experience when Mr. Dhoj’s huge hands slammed on my pathetic 15 year old back. He was an incredibly strong man. You would not want to mess around with a guy like Mr. Dhoj.…

A writing experience that has stood out the most for me was when I was a sophomore in High School. There was a girl in my class who I wasn't so fond of who one day decided to announce to everyone that she had begun to write her own stories. She showed everyone pieces of her writings expecting to get nothing but compliments and be to deemed the class writer, but when she finally showed me her work I cringed at how deplorable it was. The stories had no clear perspective of whether it was written in first person or third person view, some of the simplest of words were spelled wrong, and many words were used in the wrong context. The class didn't seem to care for her stories so they just gave standard responses with no words for…
